The Vancouver Multiple Myeloma March

2018 MM Walk
2018 MM Walk

We have been fortunate enough to never have been closely affected by anyone diagnosed, living with, or lost to cancer, until Nigel was diagnosed in 2017, at the age of 37. This is not something you plan into your future, especially with two young kids. However, this is now our life. He has made remarkable steps forward, and fights everyday. We are fortunate enough to both have amazing coverage, which we used to help pay for more than $50K (yes - fifty thousand dollars) in treatment options for him. Some (most) people aren't that lucky, and although that doesn't mean they aren't getting the best treatement - they might be limited to options. There are new treatment options being discovered everyday, and I know that we are not that far away from either a cure, or a healthier long term treatment plan.
We are walking to not just raise money, but to raise awareness.

By making a donation to me, you are helping to fund clinical research and to support advocacy for accelerated access to game-changing therapies for Canadian myeloma patients.
