The Regina Multiple Myeloma March

Schmidt Happens

As many of you know, in November of 2018 we found out our mom had cancer. It seemed so hard to believe that our beautiful, full of life, active and seemingly healthy mom could be carrying around something hurting her. But like with everything in life, mom has taken each day following this news with a positive and humbling attitude that makes us so proud.

Multiple Myeloma is a cancer of the blood found in bone marrow. Although this is not a type of cancer where one day you can be considered “cancer free”, myeloma research has made profound advancements in recent years. Because of this research, mom’s treatment allowed her to receive a stem cell transplant in May. We are forever grateful for these advancements as each new study, each new clinical trial, each new drug potentially means more time for us, and thousands of families just like us.

On September 22nd, Team Schmidt Happens will be walking in the Myeloma March. We would love and be grateful if you considered making a donation to our team. Your support would be helping to fund clinical research and to support advocacy for accelerated access to game-changing treatment for Canadian myeloma patients. Please feel free to walk along side us on September 22nd!
