Recently, my very dear friend, Pierre Laforest, was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, multiple myeloma.  Last August, he received a bone marrow transplant and is still in recovery.  

Pierre is a great motivator.  People who know him ,adore him.  He is also  an accomplished athlete with many Ironman competitions under his belt.  Instead of feeling victimized, Pierre decided to launch a foundation to increase awareness and allow progress in research of this rare form of cancer.  

The activity is called Everest Challenge to reference the gigantic challenge he is facing.  The event will be held on September 24th in Dieppe.  Each member of teams of 6 will walk/run in a escalated run during 4 hours to see how many meters we can conquer together.  I have decided to join this challenge by donating, running and asking my friends for their support to help him reach his goals with his foundation.  

 A donation, no matter how minimal, would be much appreciated in support of this great intention.
