I am riding in the Myeloma Canada Ride in support of Myeloma Canada, and this one is very close to my heart.
A few years ago, one of our Panorama tenants and dear friend, Joe Sullivan, was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. Joe went from being a strong, active, independent man to someone who could barely get out of bed because of the pain. It was during the height of the pandemic, which made everything harder and lonelier. Through months of chemotherapy, stem cell transplants and unimaginable uncertainty, Joe fought his way back to health. Eventually, he was strong enough to return home to Australia, and he has even made it back to visit us in Canada since. Every time I see him, I am reminded just how extraordinary that journey has been.
I am riding to honour Joe, and to support everyone who is facing this disease right now, as well as their families who walk alongside them.
By donating to my ride, you are helping Myeloma Canada fund research, improve access to the best possible care, and provide support to people living with myeloma across Canada. Your generosity helps give people more time, better treatment, and real hope.
Thank you so much for supporting this ride and this cause. It truly means a great deal to me. Many thanks to a long time colleague of mine, Scott Beer, for introducing me to this cause.
