Join Team Pires in the Fight Against Multiple Myeloma
In May 2024, our world changed when Joe was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, a rare and challenging form of bone marrow cancer. While Multiple Myeloma is not currently curable, it is treatable—and Joe’s fight is a testament to resilience, strength, and hope.
After beginning chemotherapy in July 2024, Joe’s journey took him to Vancouver in October for a life-saving bone marrow transplant. Though the road to recovery has been long, Joe is nearing the end of his treatment and we are hopeful that his next blood test will show that he is in remission.
But the fight isn’t over yet.
That’s why we’re participating in the Myeloma Canada Ride on May 31, 2025—to raise awareness, fund research, and support those who are living with this lesser-known cancer.
Why We Ride
By joining us in this ride, you’re not just helping us. You’re helping to:
Support research aimed at curing and preventing Multiple Myeloma.
Accelerate access to the best treatments and care for Canadians affected by the disease.
Empower and improve the lives of patients, caregivers, and families affected by myeloma.
Every dollar you contribute will directly support Myeloma Canada’s mission to make a difference in the lives of those fighting this disease.
