A year ago today my husband Dave was diagnosed with multiple myeloma. What seemed like bad back pain turned out to be the second most common type of blood cancer. Like most people, we had never heard of myeloma before and didn't know the early warning signs to watch for. While it's been an incredibly difficult year for our family, Dave is doing well now and is in remission.
In recent years, new research has significantly improved treatment options and quality of life, but there's still no cure for myeloma. That's why on May 11th, I'll be biking 54.1km with my sons Alex and Mitchell and some of our close friends in the Myeloma Canada ride. All donations go to Myeloma Canada to help cure and prevent this disease, accelerate access to the best care, and empower and improve the lives of everyone affected by myeloma.
I'm at 0 km of 54 km.
