I’m raising money in support of Myeloma Canada by participating in the Myeloma Canada Ride. This is my first time and I'm looking forward to a great experience and to raise money for a cause that is very close to my heart.
My wife Shelley has been battling Myeloma since September of 2020 but did not receive a diagnosis until November of the same year. By that time Myeloma had done a lot of damage to her body and our lives were forever changed. She continues the daily fight against this incurable disease with the support of family, friends (Shout out to Bev Famulak who is riding with the Kappa Krushers!) and the excellent team at the Cross Cancer Institute. Shelley is the reason I will ride in the Myeloma Canada Ride in Red Deer, Alberta.
Myeloma is the second most common blood cancer in Canada with just over 4000 Canadians diagnosed in 2022. Alberta is one of the leading centres for Myeloma research and treatment in Canada; at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre and the Cross Cancer Institute.
With your donation you are supporting the pursuit of curing and preventing the disease, accelerating access to the best care, while empowering and improving the lives of all Canadians affected by myeloma.
