I’m raising money in support of Myeloma Canada by participating in the Multiple Myeloma March in Mississauga.
My Story:
I was diagnosed at 45 with smouldering multiple myeloma (SMM) in 2019 within 2 years it progressed to an active myeloma. To say I was scared is an understatement. At that age dying did not cross my mind, yet.
The hardest part so far in my journey is hearing the survival rate is 5-7 years, Having a young child makes my heart ache about the possibility of not seeing my daughter grow up. And to be a little selfish, knowing I might not have a full life.
Multiple myeloma used to be an older person's illness, but more and more younger people are being diagnosed. Most likely due to advanced screening as it gets misdiagnosed so often.
By making a donation to me, you are supporting the pursuit of curing and preventing the disease, accelerating access to the best care, while empowering and improving the lives of all Canadians affected by myeloma.
Please make a donation today and help me to reach my fundraising goal!
I'm at 0 km of 5 km.
