In March 2019, I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma; this is a blood cancer that affects your white blood cells.
I had chemotherapy for 28 weeks straight at St Marys Hospital, what beautiful nurses, thank you. In November 2019 I had a Stem Cell Transplant, which was very successful, thanks to the team at the Glenn Hospital.
Multiple Myeloma is very hard to diagnose because all the side effects are similar to other illnesses. So ,we need to educate ourselves and our doctors to be aware of this incurable cancer, called Multiple Myeloma.
August 2023, my Myeloma cameback, so I started another treatment called Daratumumab. it has been one year now and the treatment is working. Overtime the treatment fails us ,then my oncologist will give me another form of treatment. Here in Quebec (Canada) we only have 5(five) approved treatments.
Thank you
