On December 6th 2018 I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma at the age of 34. At the time I'd never heard of this type of Cancer and my life drastically changed overnight. I had 17 weeks of chemotherapy and had a stem cell transplant in May 2019. I did relapse and had to get more chemotherapy and started a new immunotherapy treatment for 23 weeks from January 2023 until June 2023 and have since been getting just the immunotherapy treatment every 28 day. Multiple Myeloma is incurable at this time and the monthly immunotherapy treatment is to keep the Multiple Myeloma in check and I will be getting it for the rest of my life or until it stops working. My biggest hope is that a cure will be found soon so that I can live my life cancer free.
That is why I’m raising money in support of Myeloma Canada by participating in the Multiple Myeloma March. This is my sixth year participating in the Myeloma March and we are back to walking in person for a 5km walk on September 28th. Last year we were so touched by everyone's generosity and support with your donations and we hope you can help us meet our goals again this year!
By making a donation to me, you are helping to fund clinical research and to support advocacy for accelerated access to game-changing therapies for Canadian myeloma patients. As a stem cell transplant recipient, I've already benefited from the research that has already been done. In participating and fundraising for this march, I am literally walking for my life
Please make a donation today and help me to reach my fundraising goal!
I'm at 0 km of 5 km.
