Hi friends! I'm raising money in support of Myeloma Canada by participating in the 2022 Multiple Myeloma March. "Jocelyn's Joggers" teams will be walking in both Cobourg and Newmarket on September 25!
In 2019, I was unexpectedly diagnosed with high-risk Multiple Myeloma. I was fortunate to be treated at the University Health Network hospitals in Toronto, primarily the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. I underwent chemotherapy, surgery to repair damage to my spine caused by the myeloma, and then two back-to-back autologous stem cell transplants in the summer and fall of 2019. I was then treated with what we call "maintenance therapy" which still included mild chemotherapy and additional drugs to keep the myeloma at bay. The care I received was second to none, thanks to the incredible efforts of my health care team.
But Multiple Myeloma is an incurable disease, and recently I have relapsed and now need a new round of treatments. By making a donation, you are helping to fund clinical research and to support advocacy for accelerated access to game-changing therapies for Canadian myeloma patients like me.
Please make a donation today and help me to reach my fundraising goal! If you'd like to join my team to help us fundraise further, or to walk with me in Newmarket, please send me a message at jkervs@gmail.com.
Thank you! ❤
I'm at 0 km of 15 km.
