Dear Friends and Family
I am participating in the Multiple Myeloma March again this year, which is in person, in Maffeo Sutton Park in Nanaimo, Monday September 4, 2023. Registration starts at 9am and the walk starts at 10am. Will you please join my team either by walking with me and/or supporting my fundraising efforts?
All of the funds raised are put toward research and advocacy on behalf of patients with multiple myeloma. This is making a difference and the future is promising.
Each year, Myeloma Canada's Multiple Myeloma March enables us to raise funds for critical research that's helping us move one step closer to a cure. This is really working: there is tremendous and positive momentum in myeloma research and the future is promising. In 2022/2023 new drugs for the treatment of myeloma were approved by Health Canada. As well, other treatments such as Car-T therapy have gone to clinical trials in Calgary, Montreal and Toronto for patients with myeloma. There are many new drugs and treatment in the pipeline that hopefully will one day lead to a cure.
I was first diagnosed in October 2018 almost 5 years ago. After months of chemotherapy, I received a stem cell transplant May 8, 2019. This was followed by 2 years of maintenance chemotherapy. I had a great result and have not required any treatment since July 2021. I am very grateful to those that came before me for funding research that allows me to live a full productive life at this time.
By making a donation , you are helping to fund clinical research and to support advocacy for accelerated access to game-changing therapies for Canadian myeloma patients.
Every little bit helps and tax receipts are issued for any amount over $20.00.
Please make a donation today and help me to reach my fundraising goal!
I'm at 0 km of 5 km.
