Hi everyone,
I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma (or myeloma) in the summer of 2023 at the age of 44. Since then, I have had four rounds of chemotherapy, an autologous stem cell transplant (my own) followed by high dose chemotherapy, and I am currently in a Phase 3 clinical trial as part of maintenance therapy. Today, I can happily say that my body has shown a complete response to the treatment, and I have returned to enjoying many of my favorite activities such as running, skiing and biking, albeit at a slower pace!
Myeloma is the second most common form of blood cancer and is associated with the uncontrolled growth of a type of white blood cells called plasma cells, which are found in the bone marrow.
I am raising money in support of Myeloma Canada by participating in the Myeloma Canada Ride in Richmond, BC on June 1, where I will be cycling 63 km (I might do a few more for good measure).
By making a donation to me, you are supporting the pursuit of curing and preventing the disease, accelerating access to the best care, while empowering and improving the lives of all Canadians affected by myeloma.
Please make a donation today and help me to reach my re-revised fundraising goal of $4947, which is 2.5 times the year I was born! Thank you to everyone who has already made a donation, your generosity is much appreciated. Together, we can make a difference.
Thank you, merci!
Antoine
